WordPress 5.0 at Raidboxes
It currently seems as if WordPress 5.0 will be postponed again. Nevertheless, we would like to inform you now about how we are dealing with the update: Although we usually roll out our auto-updates after about 2 weeks for major version jumps, we will suspend them for WordPress 5.0 for an indefinite period of time. If you want, you can of course update manually beforehand. Further information can be found here.

WCEU tickets more expensive from 2019
If you would like to attend WordCamp Europe in Berlin from June 20 to 22, 2019, it is best to secure your ticket this year. Because: from January 1, 2019, the ticket price will increase slightly. The reason for this is that the WP Community Team has raised the maximum price for a WordCamp ticket to 25 euros per day.

7 Black Friday WP offers
You've been able to get great bargains everywhere all week. WordPress is of course no exception. On the occasion of today's Black Friday, Jonas from WP Ninjas has seven great WordPress offers for you. Maybe there's even a Raidboxes discount among them... ?

Performance

What's new about PageSpeed Insights?
Are you wondering why Google's PageSpeed Insights (PSI) optimization tool is suddenly spitting out different values for your site? Don't worry, this is not due to your website itself, but to an update of the tool. In order to make the results of the various Google performance tools comparable, PSI now uses Lighthouse for the analysis.

Security

Security vulnerability in the "AMP for WP" plugin
If you use the AMP for WP plugin, you should ensure that it is running at least version 0.9.97.20. A security vulnerability has made it possible for attackers to place malicious code under certain conditions. According to Heise Online, sites on which visitors can register are particularly at risk.
