With more employees, our administrative and accounting tasks are also growing. This is exactly where Birgit supports our team. Find out more about her role and about working at Raidboxes.
Raidboxes continues to grow - be part of it
Birgit, what exactly are your tasks?
Among other things, I am gradually taking over administrative tasks that were previously the responsibility of my colleagues. For example, the annual financial statements or bookkeeping. At the same time, I take care of things like process optimization or personnel administration - in collaboration with the HR team (Human Resources or Personnel Administration).
This combination is exactly my thing. My vocation is accounting, clean financial statements are my goal. And if the employees are happy, I'm happy too.
Familiarization with Raidboxes
How was the familiarization process for you? The information there is very extensive...
The induction was great! Johannes gave me great support and showed me a lot - with an admirable calmness. Of course, a lot of things came my way. Above all, I found it exciting to see what is technically possible today. For example, onboarding (induction) via video and chat with employees working from home or the documentation of all processes.
I received background information from Johannes and Ariane in many conversations. This was very helpful to see and understand Raidboxes as a whole.
Where and what did you work before joining Raidboxes?
With over 30 years in my profession, that's going to be a long list... I've never done anything other than accounting - which I find incredibly exciting. I've also always worked in the private sector, in small and medium-sized companies.
As an accountant, I was responsible for everything there, including controlling, personnel, wages, etc. I worked in South Africa and after my return I switched to companies with an international focus in the DĂĽsseldorf area because of the English language.
Why Raidboxes?
Why did you choose Raidboxes?
What "grabbed" me about the job ad was definitely Raidboxes' motto "Be free and wild and creative!". That's what made the ad so interesting. And then I took a look at the website. Everything fit:
- The sustainable approach including the tree-planting campaign - which I think is really great and important
- A young, dynamic team
- The corporate philosophy in practice
And that's how I applied. Ultimately, the fact that I have the opportunity to work from home also played a big role.
What is your first impression of Raidboxes and the team?
The team is young, dynamic, thoughtful, unconventional and friendly. I definitely have the impression that the young, highly competent people here work extremely effectively with a very good management team.
Many IT words are still "Bohemian villages" for me - but I'm also an accountant. But my ambition is awakened and everything is explained to me really well, especially the various connections. I was given a very open and warm welcome. So I can understand why people like working at Raidboxes. The team fits, the office is modern, the business philosophy is implemented on all sides... Great!
You have a lot of professional experience. What is it like for you to work in a young team?
Absolutely exciting! I think new ideas and impressions are great and I'm very open to them. The advantages are clear - I've never worked in such a structured yet proactive company. For example, the fact that everything is documented, as well as the events and benefits for employees. The meeting process is also well thought out. High praise at this point. The challenge and also the advantage is that my IT skills are getting a real boost.
The remote challenge
You work partly from home. How do you stay focused there?
I will have my normal daily work routine. As the office is not in my apartment and I have to walk 250 meters to my house, I won't be distracted. In general, I can focus and concentrate anywhere.
I like working in a team, but I also love working alone in my "little room". I have to be organized and structured in my job, and working from home doesn't change that. And I'm also in MĂĽnster at least twice a week, which I look forward to.
What do you like to do when you're not working for Raidboxes?
Not working for Raidboxes is relative - my head is full of ideas... But otherwise I "work" as a volunteer for a debtor family support association. Or I visit grannies in a retirement home with my "visiting dog" Enzo - a Landseer male. Currently unfortunately interrupted by Corona. I have been training Enzo as a water rescue dog for two years. There are also the horses and I drive a carriage.
